Location and cost

I teach private lessons in a comfortable and dedicated room in my home in Hove. Walsingham Road Practice, Hove BN3 is just off New Church Road in Hove, close to major bus routes and with easy on-street parking.

Alexander Technique lessons can benefit people of all ages and from all walks of life.

Individual lessons cost £40 (50 minutes).

I have offers and reductions on groups of lessons – please ask.

In your lessons we will explore simple, everyday activities giving you an insight into how you go about coordinating yourself, and how to change, so you engage less habitual unwanted and unregistered tension in how you stand, sit, move or organise your responses through your day. You will also experience some lying down work. There is no need to wear anything special – ordinary comfortable clothing is fine.

Alexander Technique requires a commitment for a few regular sessions as you are learning a new skill of inner poise and postural stability, or balance – something you can take into everything you do. The number of lessons will depend on you, what issues bring you to Alexander Technique, and what you wish to achieve.

Most people find that a course of 6 to 10 lessons gives them some understanding of the principles of the work, enabling them to put Alexander Technique into practice in their daily life. Most report a sense of lightness, freedom and ease in movement and a new clarity in approaching everyday tasks.

If you have not experienced Alexander Technique before I suggest you come for one lesson to begin with (£40). This allows ample time to explain, demonstrate and discuss the technique in relation to your particular needs and interests.

I offer bespoke talks, presentations and workshops for small groups about Alexander Technique. Please contact me to discuss this.
